Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage Therapy is a treatment-oriented Therapy which deals with the assessment and treatment of injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. It involves the treatment of the muscles, fascia (connective tissue), ligaments and tendons which are prone to overuse, overloading, shortening or lengthening and this can produce all kinds of aches, pains, and injuries.
A client’s condition is assessed via the most appropriate tests according to the person’s situation. This may include posture, biomechanical or range of movement. These tests help identify the most likely cause of pain or injury.
The purpose of Remedial Massage is to attempt to identify the cause of an issue and then work specifically on the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia that are affected to achieve a change. The change may be in improved mobility, lessened pain, less tension or a combination.
Remedial Massage can be a combination of relaxation techniques, deep tissue techniques or Sports Massage, depending on what you present with.
However, you need to have realistic expectations of what can be achieved in a treatment. For example, you should not expect to come in with a sore shoulder and have a Remedial assessment, Remedial shoulder work and then a general all over Body Massage in 1 hour.
If you have had a condition or an injury for a long period of time, you may need to have several treatments and your Therapist will check your progress at each visit.

We understand the challenges that pain inflicts, physically and emotionally.
